IES unveils new products

IES Ltd., leader in international transportation, customs brokerage, Electronic In-Bond and AMS filing solutions, today announced the release of four new tools to efficiently manage logistics operations.

IES Event Manager sends e-mail or fax notifications of changed events, such as a changed arrival date, to any party of record or interest. From the notification e-mail, IES’ clients and their customers can access the details of the shipment file online in IES’ Web Tracking system. “Unavoidably, shipment events are subject to change, so receiving timely notification of these changes is critical. By utilizing the Event Manager module, our customers and their shipment parties stay informed regarding critical shipment changes from the convenience of their mailbox,” said Andrew Bullen, president of IES. All monitored event changes are logged with user, date and time stamping for process improvement review.

“The same progression of actions needs to be completed every time you move cargo. IES Exception Manager allows Forwarders and NVOs to focus on the few shipment events that don't occur as expected and eliminate hours of management oversight to improve performance. Our customers know their business best. They determine their best practices and establish their expectations accordingly,” said Mr. Bullen. IES Exception Manager monitors all shipment files to identify those failing to meet expectations. These unexpected events, such as shipments delivered two days after the ETA, appear on one screen to expedite simultaneous exception resolution and bill of lading updating. Calendar advancing allows users to be proactive and address upcoming exceptions. Users can extend the value by monitoring EDI events and the printing of IES reports.

IES Statistics creates custom spreadsheets and cross tabulations using simple pull-down menus. All data is pre-calculated, so reports are generated quickly. Any shipment or booking statistic can be extracted without advanced knowledge of statistical analysis or spreadsheet applications. “Performance statistics are the key to effectively manage your business. With the click of a button our customers see the data contained within their IES system in the statistical format they define,” said Mr. Bullen.

IES Document Distribution Manager controls the printing, faxing and e-mailing of documents. Four restriction levels allow managers to send warnings, send response required warnings, password protect distribution or prohibit distribution. The customizable restriction messages remove any ambiguity regarding the nature of the distribution restrictions. “There are many situations when you need to control the distribution of documents. Preventing the printing of a Bill of Lading and the release of cargo for customers on credit hold can save $100,000s in liability,” said Mr. Bullen. IES Document Distribution Manager eliminates management oversight and external reminders.
