| Customs and
Border Protection
required all shipping lines and NVOCC entities to file inbound cargo
manifest electronically into the Automated Manifest System (AMS)
24-hours prior to loading of the container at a foreign port. All inbound vessels must report cargo data
through Customs' Automated Manifest System. Vessels that do not comply
will be denied permission to discharge cargo, although passengers may
disembark from passenger vessels. The electronic transmission of cargo
data was one of the requirements of the Trade Act of 2002.
Lalandia, Inc. offers such manifest
filings for Liner-, Bulk-, Liquid Carriers and NVOCCs, which only have
sporadic imports, at a fixed fee per Bill of Lading subject to a montly
minimum.
